Software Selection Advice
We compare Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books and Odoo against your transaction volume, VAT needs and budget, then recommend one. No upsell, just the fit.
The right software, set up right
Picking accounting software in the UAE is easy. Setting it up so your VAT filings, invoices and reports actually work is the hard part. We help you choose between Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books and Odoo, then configure everything: a VAT-ready chart of accounts, TRN-compliant invoices, bank feeds and user roles. So your books are right from the very first transaction.
What we do
Most software fails because of bad setup, not bad software. We fix the setup part, so the system you pay for is the system you actually use.
We compare Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books and Odoo against your transaction volume, VAT needs and budget, then recommend one. No upsell, just the fit.
Chart of accounts, bank feeds, tracking categories and VAT rates configured the Xero way. Historical data imported and reconciled.
QuickBooks Online configured for UAE VAT: tax codes, invoice templates carrying your TRN, and multi-currency if you bill abroad.
Zoho's FTA-accredited platform set up with Arabic invoice options, automated workflows and VAT return-ready reports.
For growing teams that need more than accounting: Odoo invoicing, inventory and HR modules, implemented with VAT compliance built in. See our Odoo implementation service.
Moving from Excel or another system? We migrate every transaction, reconcile the opening balances and train your team until they are confident. Most teams work independently within a week of handover.
How it works
A fixed process, so nothing gets missed.
We map your sales, purchases, payroll and VAT obligations in one call. Free, and no jargon.
You get a written recommendation with pricing in AED and the reasons behind it. You decide, we execute.
We configure the system, import your history and reconcile every balance. Then we test it with real transactions.
Your team learns the daily workflow. We stay on call through your first month end to catch any wobbles.
Why setup matters
Here is the pattern we see every month. A business buys Xero or Zoho because a friend recommended it, then spends six months with a half-configured system: tax codes wrong, invoices missing the TRN, bank feed unconnected. By the time VAT filing comes around, the data cannot be trusted and someone rebuilds it all in Excel.
We do it the other way. We start from your VAT and reporting obligations, configure the software around them, migrate your history cleanly and train your team on the exact workflow they will use daily. The result is software you actually trust, and books your accountant does not need to redo.
It also protects you at filing time. When your VAT return or corporate tax computation is prepared from a system that was configured for UAE rules from the start, there is no last-minute cleanup and no awkward questions from your auditor. That is the real return on a proper setup: months of saved effort, every single quarter.
Software FAQs
It depends on how you work, which is why we start with a free discovery call instead of a generic recommendation. Zoho Books suits cost-conscious SMEs and carries FTA accreditation with Arabic invoice support. Xero wins on integrations and multi-currency, while QuickBooks fits teams already familiar with it. For product businesses that need inventory and operations too, Odoo is the stronger pick. Our Xero vs QuickBooks and Zoho Books vs Xero comparisons lay out the 2026 pricing and VAT handling side by side. If you outgrow your first choice, we handle the upgrade path too, so you never start over.
Two parts: the subscription and the implementation. SME plans typically run AED 100 to 300 per month depending on the platform and user count. Our one-time implementation fee depends on complexity: a clean Xero or Zoho setup with migration is a fixed quote after the discovery call, and Odoo is scoped per module. Either way you know the full number before we start. Training for your team and support through your first month end are included in every implementation, not billed as extras.
Yes, it is one of our most common jobs. We map your spreadsheet columns to a proper chart of accounts, import the full history, and reconcile every opening balance against your bank statements. Nothing gets lost and nothing gets double counted. Most migrations go live in two to three weeks, and your team gets trained on the new workflow before handover.
Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho Books typically go live in two to three weeks including migration and training. Odoo takes longer, usually four to eight weeks, because it covers more of your operations. The timeline we quote after discovery is the timeline we keep. You get the go-live date in writing before we begin.
Yes. We configure sequential invoice numbering, your TRN on every document, the correct 5% VAT breakdown and Arabic and English templates where you need them. We also set up invoice data with the FTA e-invoicing requirements in mind, so you are prepared as the rollout continues. Your VAT returns then come straight from the system, not from rework.
Always. Training is role based: your sales team learns invoicing, your admin learns bills and expenses, and whoever approves payments learns the approval flow. We stay on call through your first full month end to catch any wobbles. And if you would rather not touch it at all, our bookkeeping team can run the whole system for you.
