Zoho Books UAE Pricing: Plans & Setup Guide

Zoho Books is the cheapest FTA-accredited accounting software you can run in the UAE, with plans from free to AED 280 a month billed annually (AED 349 month-to-month). But the sticker price is the least interesting part. Which plan you actually need, what the e-invoicing rules demand, and what setup really costs: that is what this guide covers, in AED, with no sales pitch.

Choosing

Which plan does your business actually need?

Most businesses we meet are on the wrong plan: either paying for Elite features they never touch, or stuck on Standard when compliance needs Professional. Here is the honest mapping.

1

Just starting out

Solo founder or freelancer, a few invoices a month, no VAT registration yet. Start on Free and move to Standard (AED 60/month billed annually; AED 69 month-to-month) when you hire your first person or register for VAT. Do not pay for more until the business demands it.

2

Growing SME

VAT-registered, 2 to 10 staff, regular invoicing. Professional (AED 90/month billed annually; AED 129 month-to-month) is the sweet spot: 5 users, proper automation, and it is the cheapest plan that supports UAE e-invoicing through Peppol. This is where most of our clients land.

3

Trading or multi-branch

Inventory, warehouses, or more than one location. Premium (AED 120/month billed annually; AED 159 month-to-month) adds the inventory depth and workflow control you will actually use. Elite (AED 280/month billed annually; AED 349 month-to-month) only makes sense with multiple entities or heavy customisation needs.

Why accountants recommend it here

Built for UAE VAT, not adapted to it

Zoho Books runs a UAE-specific edition, and it shows in the details that matter during an FTA review:

  • FTA accreditation: Zoho Books is accredited by the Federal Tax Authority for UAE VAT purposes, with TRN fields and the four UAE VAT treatment categories built in.
  • VAT 201 reports: your quarterly VAT return figures generate automatically from the books, instead of being rebuilt in a spreadsheet the night before the deadline.
  • E-invoicing as an approved ASP: since 2026 Zoho Books connects directly to the Peppol network for UAE e-invoicing on Professional plans and above, with no separate access-point subscription to buy.
  • Arabic invoices: bilingual Arabic and English invoicing, which you will need the first time a government entity or a traditional local client asks for it.

If you are comparing options first, our Zoho Books vs Xero breakdown covers where each one wins for UAE businesses.

The real budget

The hidden costs nobody quotes you

The subscription is the smallest line in year one. Budget for these too, or they will surprise you mid-quarter.

A

Setup and VAT configuration

A fresh Zoho Books account knows nothing about your business. Chart of accounts, UAE tax rates, invoice templates with your TRN, payment terms: someone has to configure all of it, and doing it wrong means rebuilding later.

B

Migration from old books

Moving from spreadsheets, Xero or QuickBooks means carrying over customers, vendors, opening balances and unpaid invoices cleanly. Rushed migrations are the number one cause of the mystery balances we get asked to fix.

C

Training and add-ons

Your team needs to actually use the software, and add-ons like Zoho Payroll (for WPS) or Zoho Inventory bill separately. Price the whole stack for year one, not just the Books subscription.

Done-for-you setup

We implement Zoho Books properly

Buying the subscription takes five minutes. Getting VAT-ready books out of it takes a proper implementation. That is the part BizNex handles:

  • Plan selection: we tell you which plan fits your headcount, invoice volume and e-invoicing position, so you stop paying for the wrong one.
  • UAE VAT configuration: tax rates, TRN invoice templates, VAT 201 mapping, all set to FTA expectations from day one.
  • Clean migration: from spreadsheets, Xero or QuickBooks, with reconciled opening balances. Typical timeline: one to two weeks.
  • Team training: your staff learns the daily workflow (invoicing, expenses, reconciliation), not a 200-page manual.
  • Ongoing bookkeeping: most clients pair implementation with our monthly bookkeeping (from AED 2,000/month), so the software stays clean after go-live.

FAQs

Zoho Books UAE pricing, answered

How much does Zoho Books cost in the UAE?

Zoho Books UAE starts with a free plan for 1 user. Paid plans at the time of writing: Standard AED 60/month billed annually (AED 69 month-to-month), 3 users; Professional AED 90/month billed annually (AED 129 month-to-month), 5 users; Premium AED 120/month billed annually (AED 159 month-to-month), 10 users; and Elite AED 280/month billed annually (AED 349 month-to-month), 10 users. Zoho adjusts prices, so confirm the current figure on zoho.com before you buy.

Is the free Zoho Books plan actually usable?

For a solo freelancer sending a handful of invoices, yes. You get basic invoicing and expense tracking for 1 user. The limits bite fast though: no e-invoicing support, limited automation, and a revenue cap. Most trading or VAT-registered businesses outgrow it within months.

Is Zoho Books accredited by the FTA for UAE VAT?

Yes. Zoho Books is FTA-accredited for UAE VAT. It handles TRN fields on invoices, the four UAE VAT treatment categories, and auto-generates the VAT 201 return report from your books. That accreditation is the main reason accountants recommend it over generic software here.

Which Zoho Books plan do I need for UAE e-invoicing?

Professional or higher. Zoho Books became an FTA-approved Access Point provider in 2026 with direct Peppol connectivity built in, but only on Professional, Premium and Elite plans. Standard and Free plans cannot connect, so factor an upgrade into your budget if e-invoicing applies to you.

Does Zoho Books support Arabic invoices?

Yes, it supports bilingual Arabic and English invoices, which matters when you deal with government entities or local clients who expect Arabic documentation. Few budget accounting tools do this properly in the UAE.

Can BizNex migrate us from Xero, QuickBooks or spreadsheets to Zoho Books?

Yes, that is a standard engagement for us. We rebuild your chart of accounts, carry over opening balances and customer/vendor data, configure UAE VAT settings and tax rates, and train your team. Most migrations complete in one to two weeks without losing a single transaction. Ask for a migration quote.
